The D0 group of Wuppertal

In february 2001 we joined the D0 experiment . It is located at the Fermi National Accelarator Laboratory (Fermilab) near Chicago. Since years this experiment is successfully taking data at the Tevatron , a proton- antiproton collider.

In march 2001 Run II of the Tevatron started. This run has a significant improved luminosity. Together with the increased center of mass energy of 2TeV this enables the study of the to date highest energy scales.

During the last years, the D0 detektor has been substantially improved and we participate in understanding the detector and improving the software. In particular we concentrate on trackfinding in the Central Fiber Tracker (CFT).

From the physics analysis point of view we will start with studying the top quark. In the long term we will search for effects beyond the standard modell.
