Lipp studied at the Fachhochschule Wedel 1998-2004. In 2000 he had a guest term for half a year at the Art Institute at CMU, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA He made his diploma in 2004 at the Fachhochschule Wedel (University of Applied Sciences), Germany, and published his diploma thesis on interaction between human and computer as Interaktion zwischen Mensch und Computer (Lit-Verlag, Hamburg 2004. ISBN 3825879380). Since spring 2005 he is conducting a working group on UbiComp and Tangible Interfaces at the Fachhochschule Wedel, University of Applied Sciences. He is preparing his PhD. on UbiComp at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Germany. He contributed “Ubiquitäres Computing, essay on Ambient Displays, Tangible Interfaces and Augmented Reality”, published in: Cyrus Khazaeli: Informationsdesign, Hamburg 2005. Four examples from the Workshop (Exploring Interaction techniques for applications in UbiComp): - A Tangible Interface for controlling basic settings in a conference room (lighting, sound) and for controlling the presentation itself (start, stop, back, etc.). - An Augmented Reality Application for finding relevant magazines in a library based on a user profile. See-through-display utilized. - RFID-supported telephone for supporting children and older people through connecting to the other party by using digital artefacts - Tangible Digital Map, interaction is provided by moving the tablet-pc-type screen, without pen, keyboard or mouse. At the Moment, he is supervising a diploma thesis about Visual Information Seeking (VIS) on the basis of the text-archive from Bazon Brock. lauritz@lippster.de |
